Safety Jobs Search Tips
It's easy to get bogged down in the job hunting process. But take a deep breath and relax, because getting all stressed out will only hurt your chances of finding a job. Safety jobs are in high demand right now, and if you aren't making much progress then you may want to try these tips:

Consider research. Safety analysis and awareness is more important than ever to our government and institutions. Career opportunities in safety research are popping up everywhere, as companies, schools, and organizations of all kinds seek to find the most effective and efficient safety protocols. Technology has dramatically increased safety options and broadened the scale of safety research methods.
Update your education. Do you have the training and education you need to get the right safety job? Consider adding another certification or license to your resume, or take some courses in the latest safety technology and computer software. These skills will increase your marketability and boost your career.
Create a solid resume. Your resume should briefly and clearly explain all your relevant work experience, education, training, and skills, and ideally should fit on one page. Take time to create two ready-to-go resumes - one printed out on high-quality white paper, and one electronic version for emailing and uploading to the web. For an extra touch, customize your resume for each job opportunity, and always have someone proofread it.
Follow up on leads. In this electronic age, it has become all too easy to submit an application and resume online, click "send," and then be done with it. But it's always a good idea to send a follow-up email or give a quick phone call to the hiring employee - nothing too wordy (or desperate), just a brief sentence thanking them for their time and drawing their attention to your resume. A little extra effort on your part might make all the difference!
